Discover Clarington: 20 Things to do within 20 Minutes | Part 4

The final part in our Discover Clarington series highlights a ski area, a wellness centre, a camping park, a spot for the animal lovers and, of course, a spot for the foodies.

Part 1  is a compilation of some great spots for art, music and nature lovers. Part 2  includes some more locations to explore nature and the best spot in Clarington for car racing enthusiasts. Part 3 highlights a golf course, a farmers market, a spa, an art gallery and a winery.

16. Brimacombe Ski – 12 minutes

Discover Clarington

Brimacombe is South Ontario’s largest ski area. With easy access to the location via Highway 401 and Highway 35/115, it is an ideal spot for a family skiing trips. Some onsite features include: 22 runs and trails for day skiing, 11 runs available for night skiing, 2 terrain parks, a magic carpet conveyor lift and 2 chalets with cafeteria.

 17. Jungle Cat World – 14 minutes

Visitors to Jungle Cat World get the opportunity to learn about wild species “in an up and close personal environment.” Friendly and knowledgable staff are on site to answer questions and help visitors get around.

18. Chanterelle Bistro – 16 minutes

Chanterelle is one of the richest spots for dinner around Clarington. The restaurant prides itself in offering customers quality gluten free, meals prepared with locally-sourced products.

19. The Hive Center – 19 minutes

Discover Clarington

Located in the building of an 1850s church, the Hive Center is dedicated to educating its visitors on Community, Nature and Wellbeing. They do this through workshops, retreats, events and a diverse set of activities. Right beside the centre is the Hive Bed and Breakfast, a retro-executive home offering single room and full house rentals (18+ ppl), daily or weekly.

The hive centre location comfortably sits 60-75 people, making it ideal for ceremonies, workshops, conferences and special events. The location is 4min away from Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Brimacombe, Jungle Cat World, Cedar Park, and a Golf course.

20. Darlington Provincial Park – 20 minutes

Discover Clarington

Lots of space. The Darlington Provincial Park is great for family camping as it is made up of pockets of serene spaces (perfect for picnics), nature trails and a long sandy beach.
